Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 2-10-21

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27 and 28 in Oakdale; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Feb. 2 through Monday, Feb. 8. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, FEB. 8

Crews performed their weekly detailed apparatus checks;

Firefighters and their crews prepared for the upcoming engineer test;

Command staff had their weekly staff meeting at admin building;

The fire academy practiced ground ladder skills;

Crews practiced rural water supply operations in the morning at Mary Grogan Park.

 

SUNDAY, FEB. 7

Every fire station conducted their weekly COVID PPE supply count;

Station 28 conducted vehicle extrication training;

MCS Battalion Chiefs prepared for upcoming multi-company garage fire training.

 

SATURDAY, FEB. 6

Modesto Engine 2, Engines 27, 28, 29 and Water Tender 27 conducted rural water supply operations training.

 

FRIDAY, FEB. 5

The joint fire academy wrapped up hose week today;

The Modesto COVID Vaccine POD at Center Plaza continued to distribute second doses to Stanislaus County residents today.

 

THURSDAY, FEB. 4

11:17 a.m. – Modesto Engine 27 and Stanislaus Consolidated Engine 21 responded to the 11000 Block of Valley Home Road for the report of a vehicle accident. Engine 27 arrived on scene to find two vehicles involved. One occupant was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. CHP is investigating.

 

TUESDAY, FEB. 2

New hires continued building skills in hose management and water stream application. Fire attack hose is arranged to be deployed in 100-foot increments; loops signify each 100-foot section making it much easier to pull the correct amount in a consistent manner.

Modesto E7 assisted a female in extricating herself from a canal in Riverbank. She was not injured.
