The April Meet Up, the next meeting for the Relay For Life of the Greater Central Valley, is scheduled for Thursday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.

The session is open to all participants and anyone interested in learning more about this 24-hour American Cancer Society fundraising event, coming up Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18 at Johansen High School in Modesto.

The meeting on April 24 will be at Wellspring Anglican Church, 1548 Cummins Drive, Modesto.

Kaiser Permanente is this year’s presenting sponsor for the local Relay. Teams and participants have so far raised more than $64,700 and invite residents from throughout Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties and beyond to join in for the team event.

Money raised benefits the American Cancer Society for research, advocacy and patient services in the fight against cancer.

The Thursday, April 24 gathering will also feature a dinner, being put on as a fundraiser by the team Meet The Flockers. Cost is $10 per plate for spaghetti, salad, a dinner roll and a drink.
