Team Captains – and all interested team members – are encouraged to attend the next Relay For Life meeting, set for Wednesday, Aug. 25 in Modesto.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be at the North Modesto Church of God at 1918 Sherwood Ave., Modesto. Planning is also moving full speed ahead for the upcoming American Cancer Society event, set for Oct. 9 and 10 at John Thurman Field in Modesto.

This year, it is a combined super relay, bringing together Oakdale, Modesto and Turlock events, encompassing small communities surrounding those cities as well. It is the Relay For Life of Greater Stanislaus County, with a Disney-inspired ‘Wish Upon A Cure’ theme.

Included in the Aug. 25 meeting will be an opportunity to win entries for upcoming Tea Party and Bingo fundraisers being hosted by teams, as well as incentive information for individual fundraising.

Teams from Oakdale, Valley Home, Modesto, Turlock and more have already signed up to participate in the 24-hour event in October, which will also feature a variety of ceremonies, food and beverages, merchandise and more. There is still time to get involved; sign up a team today.
