The McHenry Visitor Center and Gift Store located at 924 15th Street in downtown Modesto has reopened. The Gift Store is now open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed weekends.
Masks and social distancing are required in the store and hand sanitizer is readily available. Customers who desire to be the only shoppers in the store may call 209-549-0428 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to schedule an exclusive visit.
New merchandise has been arriving daily. All items ordered last January are now arriving. There is a great selection of unique Halloween merchandise, just what is needed for a stay-at-home Halloween. Also, Christmas is being unpacked. Old World Christmas ornaments are now on display and available for selection. Shoppers will be delightfully surprised at items selected by the store buyers to make a stay-at-home Christmas a festive occasion.
The McHenry Mansion itself is not open. Its opening will depend on California State guidelines concerning museums.
The Foundation and Docent Council are pleased to welcome back shoppers to the newly reopened gift store and encourage your patronage. All store proceeds support the non-profit McHenry Mansion.
