Master Gardeners host local classes
Salad

Join in for a class with the UCCE Master Gardeners and learn how to grow your own fresh vegetables.

Classes will be offered on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Riverbank Library, 3442 Santa Fe St., Riverbank; and on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Oakdale Library, 151 S. First Ave., Oakdale.

Grow a salad bar in your backyard in the ground or in containers. For the base, plant lettuce, Swiss chard and spinach. For crunch, add root vegetables like carrots, beets, and radishes. And don’t forget to add broccoli and cauliflower, too. Free seeds to participants.

More information about this and other classes offered through the University of California Cooperative Extension can be found by visiting the calendar at https://ucanr.edu/sites/stancountymg/Calendar/ for dates, times, and locations.
