On Monday, Sept. 16, Stanislaus State officials celebrated a significant milestone in the construction of its new academic building at the Stockton Campus. University leaders and members of Otto Construction gathered to sign the final steel beam, marking a tradition in construction that symbolizes progress and achievement. The beam, painted white and featuring the University’s shield logo, represents the next step in expanding opportunities for students and the community.

“I’m incredibly proud of the commitment and level of service we provide here at the Stockton Campus,” said Stanislaus State President Britt Rios-Ellis. “This new building will expand our ability to deliver even more impactful programs and activities that will uplift the community. Knowing the history of the land, we believe the work we’re doing is restorative – ensuring access and opportunity for Stockton and San Joaquin County, fostering student success and social mobility and honoring the rich history and potential of this region. We are excited for what’s ahead as we continue to build a brighter future together for Stockton, San Joaquin County and the Central Valley.”

The state-of-the-art academic building, set to open in the fall of 2025, will nearly double the campus capacity, providing cutting-edge spaces for learning, research, and faculty engagement.
