December 2018 Programs At The Oakdale Library
Library

Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms will be off-session in December and resume in January, 2019.

The first week of December will be filled with winter fun. Join in on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 3:30 p.m. “Decorating Pinecones” will be hosted as a special Children’s Craft. Make a fluffy snowy owl or a pinecone gnome using cotton balls, felt, and other craft materials.

The Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, Dec, 3, at 10 a.m. Parents can help their children learn social skills and have fun at the same time.

There will be two Lego Days this month. Kids can create their own masterpieces using the library’s Lego collection and then the great works will be put on display in the library. The building fun begins at 3 p.m. on Thursdays, Dec. 6 and 27.

Bring your little ones for some Toddler/Preschool Dance Fun on Monday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m.; enjoy “rockin’ out” to some favorite Story Time music as well as trying the hula, the Twist, or perhaps a “Jingle Bell Rock.”

Festive fun will continue in the second Children’s Craft for the month. Children are invited to paint a wood ornament ideal for hanging on the wall or a tree. There will be several different patterns to choose from and all the colors necessary for unique personalization. Come join the fun on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 3:30 p.m.

And, all week, Dec. 17 through 22, don’t forget to “Find the Missing Reindeer Antlers” hidden in the Children’s Library, and get a small prize. Those antlers will be moving around daily so don’t give up. The reindeer needs them back!

Finally, end the year on a happy note. Little friends, 7 and under, are invited to join in for the fun-filled “New Year’s At Noon!” celebration. Featured will be reading and dancing until the clock strikes noon. This Dance Party Story Time is perfect for toddlers and children up to age 7. The clock starts counting down at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 31.
