The Friends of the Oakdale Library are gearing up for their annual Used Book Sale and are looking for donations of books as well. You may drop off books to donate for the sale at the Oakdale Library on South First Avenue or call for book pick up at 209-845-2895. The sale itself is scheduled for Tuesday through Thursday, March 7, 8 and 9 at the Oakdale Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave.; hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stop by to get some great bargains and check out the amazing collection of donated books.

Oakdale Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon on Thursday, March 9. The monthly event will be hosted at Papapolloni Mediterranean Bistro, 1214 W. F St., Oakdale from noon to 1:30 p.m. The luncheon and program is open to the public at a cost of $18 for buffet lunch. RSVP’s encouraged. Saint Matthias Anglican Church will host Adam & Eve & Evolution from March 8 through April 8. This is a five-week survey of Christian perspectives on scientific findings and interpreting Genesis 1-3. Soroptimist International of Oakdale will host its annual Motor Madness event on Saturday, March 25 at Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include beer, wine, soft drinks and appetizers. Raffle tickets are $100 each and cover admission for two adults to the event. The Knights Ferry Museum in partnership with the Army Corps of Engineers presents the 27th Annual Gold Country Peddlers Faire. The event will be hosted on Sunday, April 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event host vendors offering antiques, handmade crafts and art. The Healthy Aging and Association will host “Age With Movement,” on Friday May 5. This free event celebrates Older Americans Month. The free festivities include vendor booths, balance and fitness testing, blood pressure check and fun ways to get moving. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Booths are open from 8 a.m. to noon.
