Local Dance Band Brings Back Big Band Era
Music Notes

Every last Thursday of the month, the Oakdale Community Dance Band puts on a free concert with music from the big band era. The gathering offers community members a fun place to go and dance to the live music.

The concerts are open to the public and the band has scheduled its next performance for Thursday, May 26.

The band is open to anyone that plays an instrument and has a love for music, and is led by Ron Quintanal and Lou Barton.

During COVID, the group couldn’t put on the traditional concerts due to crowd size restrictions, but last month they were finally able to begin offering the in-person musical concerts once again.

The concerts are from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are hosted at the Gladys L. Lemmons Senior Community Center at 450 E. A St., Oakdale.

All upcoming concert dates and information is also posted on their Facebook page, Oakdale Community Band.
