The last week of school at Knights Ferry School has always been a busy week and this year was no exception! The eighth graders went to Six Flags Magic Kingdom, fishing at a local pond, and bowling with Mr. Russell. On the final day of school was the annual end-of-the-school-year water day for the whole school where the local fire department enjoyed spraying the kids and playing Tug-of-War with the Junior High students. Seventh grader, Hayden Lewis used her shoe as the marker before the two teams and slid in the mud in her socks! It was a close battle but the firemen triumphed over the students! Knights Ferry School has some of the best yearbooks around but this year the cover of the yearbook was extra special. For this year’s yearbook cover, the eighth-grade class drew animals found in our local environment including fish, a rabbit, a Bald Eagle, a bobcat, and a fox that were worked into Layla Kasshn’s painting of the river, rocks, and countryside. It was a very unique and memorable yearbook cover!

The eighth graders of Knights Ferry School are moving on to high school after summer vacation. The eighth-grade graduates are: Layla Kasshn, Darren Barth, Mason Bogrow, Tristan Casey, James Davis, Amayah Longoria, Judah Prather, and Taylor Witzke. Graduate James David was awarded the Cameron Schlicht award for exemplifying encouragement and kindness. Cameron’s children Cole and Jocelyn presented the award in memory of their father, Cameron. The graduation ceremony stage was adorned in traditional school colors and the graduates wore blue caps and gowns. Inside the cafeteria, the walls were decorated with poster boards of each graduate including baby pictures for everyone to admire while they were served cake and punch!
