The cannons rang loud and clear at the river park this weekend! The Civil War reenactment battles were enjoyed with beautiful weather and a little suspense of who would win each battle. The North and the South were nicely represented by volunteers of all ages. Men and women dressed up and recreated a typical battle while the onlookers sat perched on the hillside or stood near the bottom to get up close to the action. One thing many people assume when they attend the reenactments is the volunteers are locals but they are a group of volunteers from outside the area who travel to various towns to perform these reenactments! Our local businesses are grateful for the additional traffic from the reenactments. I saw many people sitting on the Creamery steps eating ice cream, heard live music and laughter coming from the Saloon, and of course a whole bunch of people enjoying the beautiful views of Rivers Edge.

The Knights Ferry Classic Car Show on April 5th from 10am-3pm is quickly approaching. Sign up your car or truck online by April 1st at www.knightsferrycommunityclub.com. It is $40 per entry and includes a T-shirt! The car show is free admission to come and enjoy the unique cars and trucks parked along Main Street Knights Ferry. There will be live music, raffle prizes, and plenty of tasty places to purchase drinks and food. Also, another reminder to avoid bringing large rigs including semi-trucks, trucks and trailers, motorhomes, or other vehicles that may have trouble navigating a narrow road with an extremely narrow 90 degree turn from 6:30am-3pm on the day of the car show! You will not be able to pass and will have to go all the way back around the highway. Please tell your friends and family!
