Knights Ferry News 10-28-20
Nastasia Sweet

Love Knights Ferry was well attended by roughly 20 local community members. The crew dusted cobwebs, raked the leaves, picked up the garbage, and weed-whacked and pruned where it was needed! Thank you to each and every one who came out to help, the town looks amazing. See you for the Spring Love Knights Ferry.

Don’t forget to plan accordingly on Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th! The school will have their traditional Halloween Parade through town on both days around 1pm. Please be mindful to drive slowly through town as there will be excited children parading through town! Thank you to Knights Ferry School for keeping our traditions alive!

Last week, Lisa Kennedy Bergantz visited the museum to share pictures and memorabilia of her great grandparents, Charlie and Lena Kennedy. Charlie and Lena lived in the Dent House for over 40 years and they were active in all community clubs and lodges. Charlie was in charge of the Red Cross during the flu epidemic of 1917 and later in life, he drove the school bus to Oakdale High School. Lisa was wonderful to gift copies of “Registration of Pioneers of California” papers for the Kennedys and Jorgensens (Lisa’s great-great grandparents). She also gave the Museum a scrapbook that Lena kept during the 1940s and 1950 of the floods, weddings, and funerals of the local citizens. Sharon Page and Carol Davis enjoyed their visit with Lisa and cannot wait to open the museum to the public to share the newest Museum treasures!
