Our local mail carrier ran into a bit of truck trouble when she dropped off the mail at the Post Office last week. Her truck wouldn’t start as she was trying to leave and the ladies inside the Post Office made a quick trip across the street to the Fire Department. The firemen used jumper cables to start the mail truck while a new mail truck was deployed from town to help her go on her way. Thank you to our quick-thinking Post Office ladies and the firemen for going the extra mile to help the mail get delivered for the day!

Carol Davis attended Marlyn Hunt Crawford’s 90th birthday party in Modesto. Marlyn dazzled those in attendance as she played piano for her guests. Marlyn and Carol met in third grade at Knights Ferry School and graduated from Oakdale High School in 1952 together. Marlyn lived in town for a few years in the lot where the Wright family lives today in a home that burned down in 1942.
