It’s Winter Homecoming Week on the campus of Oakdale High School, with themed dress up days and the culmination of the week featuring the crowning of royalty on Friday, Jan. 24.
The boys basketball teams will welcome East Union to the Mustang gym for a Valley Oak League showdown at the freshman, JV and varsity levels on Friday.
This year’s theme is ‘Mustangs Master Musicals’. Monday was observed as Hamilton, Tuesday as the Jungle Book and Wednesday as Mean Girls. Thursday features Grease and Friday is High School Musical; the dress up days are based on the movie theme for the day.
There will be a rally at the school on Friday, followed by the basketball games in the evening.
Homecoming Queen candidates are Bradie Evans, Lauren Ghiglia, Ashley Haley, Taylor Krum and Jordan Wylie.
Homecoming Princess candidates include Rylee Davis, Bella Kesterson, Sydney Peregoy, Taeya Riley and Addison Wylie.
Those in the running for Homecoming King are Wes Burford, Richard Flores, Grant Gardner, Parker Whitemyer and Gavin Wyatt.
Homecoming Prince hopefuls include Chase Dugo, Evan Krum, Zane Puyo, Jackson Seefeldt and Noah Vagneur.
The crowning is scheduled to occur between the JV and varsity basketball games on Friday.
Scheduled start times for all three contests against the Lancers are: freshmen, 4 p.m.; JV 5:30 p.m.; varsity 7 p.m.
