Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, often referred to simply as Mariachi Vargas, stands as an iconic institution within the world of mariachi music, earning its reputation as the best mariachi ensemble in the world through a rich history of innovation, talent, and tradition.
The music will be front and center this spring at the Gallo Center for the Arts.
Founded in the town of Tecalitlán, Jalisco, Mexico, this remarkable ensemble has preserved and elevated the mariachi genre for over a century. Their enduring legacy continues to inspire mariachi musicians and enthusiasts worldwide, and their music remains a source of pride for Mexicans and a symbol of their cultural heritage. Mariachi Vargas has received multiple Grammy awards and nominations, along the way sharing the stage with such artists as Linda Ronstadt, Vicente Fernández, and Alejandro Fernández.
Mariachi Vargas is scheduled to take the stage at the Gallo Center on Sunday, April 21 at 6 p.m.
Ticket prices are $49, $69, $89 and $99; visit the Ticket Office at 1000 I St., downtown Modesto to purchase tickets. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday; noon to 6 p.m. Saturday; and two hours before each performance.
