If you are tired of your landscape and ready for something new or have been thinking about replacing all or part of your lawn, make plans to attend a workshop on Saturday, Oct. 7 in Modesto, put on by the UC Master Gardeners of Stanislaus County.

Are you confused about how to transition from sprinkler to drip irrigation? Do you want to attract insect pollinators and birds to your landscape? If you answered “yes” to either of these questions, this is the workshop for you. Learn how to replace your sprinkler system and convert to drip, hear about some low water use plants, including a list of plants that can provide bloom year-round.

Bring your questions. This will be a great opportunity to speak with Tim Long, an expert in drip irrigation systems, as well as other speakers who have experience with growing CA natives and lawn removal.

Workshop cost, $10 per person, includes seeds, plants, and presentation materials and helps support the Master Gardener program. If you are unable to pay for this class, you will not be turned away. Just sign up so program officials know you are coming.

The workshop will be staged at Ag Center, Harvest Hall rooms D&E, 3800 Cornucopia Way, Modesto. Offered on Saturday, Oct. 7, the hours are 9 a.m. to noon and more information is available by calling 209-525-6800.
