Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 11.30.22

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Nov. 22 through Monday, Nov. 28. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, NOV. 28

Engine 27, 28, 29 trained on incident command, engine company operations, and building construction.

Engine 27, 28, BC5 responded to the area of Lon Dale and Cleveland Avenue for the report of vehicle accident with rollover. On scene one patient was found and treated.

 

SUNDAY, NOV. 27

MST units conducted equipment checks and station maintenance.

Probationary training was conducted.

 

SATURDAY, NOV. 26

Crews performed station maintenance.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., E29, E28, E27 and BC5 responded to a vehicle accident at Sonora and Shell Road in Knights Ferry. One patient was transported by Air ambulance to local trauma center.

 

FRIDAY, NOV. 25

At approximately 11 a.m., E29 and BC5 assisted Cal Fire with a vehicle vs. bicyclist on Highway 108 in Tuolumne County; Sonora CHP handled the investigation. Authorities said the 67-year-old bicyclist, a Modesto resident identified as Bruce J. Velthoen, succumbed to his injuries.

 

THURSDAY, NOV. 24

Battalion 5 companies celebrated the Thanksgiving Holiday

 

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 23

3:11 a.m. – Stanislaus E26 and Modesto E7 responded to Patterson and Coffee Road for a vehicle accident. One delayed patient was found and transported to an area hospital.

2:12 p.m. – Engine 28 and BC5 responded to a medical aid for a subject in cardiac arrest. Engine 28 arrived to find the patient in full arrest and began initial patient care. Crews were able to regain pulses and the patient was transported from the scene to a local emergency room.

7:39 p.m. – Engine 28, Engine 27, Engine 26 and BC5 responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Highway 120. Engine 28 arrived to find all occupants out of the vehicles (non-injury) and canceled the additional response. CHP investigating.

 

TUESDAY, NOV. 22

Units rotated through the RFTC for firefighter survival training.

MST units conducted engine checks and station maintenance.
