Oakdale police will join community residents in observing National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
A communitywide event is set at Burchell Hill Park, starting at 5:30 p.m. and will include a variety of booths, activities, food and fun.
National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
“We will have our officers attending many of the local celebrations as well as the annual community-wide event in Burchell Park,” said Interim Police Chief Mike Harden. “Come celebrate what a wonderful city we live in.”
