A collaborative effort was once again hosted to help those in need during the holidays.

The Oakdale Sportsmen’s Club and the Cowboy Fast Draw Association Club, working together for the fifth year, coordinated a coat drive to benefit the Childrens Crisis Center and had another successful coats for kids charity fundraising event.

“The Oakdale Sportsmen’s Club and CFDA Cowboys members, over matches in November and December, collected new coats for kids at their Cowboy Fast Draw matches,” explained Oakdale Sportsmen’s Club Past President and Fast Draw Section Head Dennis Dias. “This while partnering with local supporter and organizer Jeanenne Teodor and her mother Joanne Rollins. This determined bunch collected 101 new coats and $150 dollars.”

The coats were delivered to the Sawyer House in Modesto earlier this month, presented to Executive Director of Children’s Crisis Center Colleen Garcia and her staff. The Children’s Crisis Center has five houses in Stanislaus County including two in Modesto, one in Oakdale (Guardian House), Turlock, and Ceres.

“We are immensely proud of the OSC, Jeanenne, Joanne, and CFDA Cowboys for their dedication and commitment to supporting this charity and the outstanding charitable work and results they all continue to deliver,” said Dias.
