Looking for a good way to have a family night out? Grab chairs, a blanket, and some local take-out and head on over to Dorada Park on Friday evenings this summer from July 16 to Aug. 27.
After a hiatus last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce summer Concerts in the Park series returns, with the first show taking the stage on Friday, July 16.
Slated from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., this annual event will feature plenty of familiar faces as well as some newcomers to the local performing pavilion at Dorada.
The concert line up is as follows: July 16th – The Nobodys; July 23rd – Highway 99 Band; July 30th – Barbi and The Deplorables; Aug. 6th – Barbara Findlay and Jim Ramont; Aug. 13th – Ava Grace Trio; Aug. 20th – Borderline Band; Aug. 27th – Mark Macsenti and the Taillights.
While families can bring their own food and drink (glass bottles prohibited in the park) or grab some food from a local eatery to enjoy, Captain Coop’s Kettle Corn will also be making an appearance for the first five concerts.
“We do ask people respect guidelines as far as distancing,” Trisha Brown, CEO of Oakdale’s Chamber of Commerce, noted.
It will be an outdoor event and they expect guidelines to remain the same as CDC recommendations. However, it will still maintain the same community and family-friendly atmosphere with music for everyone and the chance to enjoy the live performances, something that was missed last summer.
The concerts will have free admission and are still accepting sponsorships; details can be found at http://www.oakdalechamber.com/concerts-in-the-park/
