Christmas In July At Hutton’s Hamlet
mask

The fourth production of the summer season, “A Fairy Tale Christmas Carol: The Musical Christmas in July”, will soon take the stage at Hutton’s Hamlet in Oakdale.

All of the favorite fairytale characters take on new roles to retell this adaptation of A Christmas Carol that is surprisingly true to the original, yet also very unlike the original. You’ll never know who will show up next when the Big Bad Wolf as Ebenezer Scrooge meets the ghost of his old business partner, Jacob Midas (Marley), who can turn anything to gold. Midas warns Big Bad that he’ll be visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future – played by a Fairy Godmother, Old King Cole, and the Queen of Hearts, respectively. The ghosts make Scrooge realize what a scoundrel he’s been to the Charming (or Cratchit) family – including Prince Philip, Cinderella, and their kids Hansel, Gretel, and Tabitha, their Little Match Girl – and help him remember what the Christmas spirit is all about.

Hutton’s Hamlet Performing Arts Center is at 132 W. G St., Oakdale. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for 12 and under. Shows are scheduled for Friday, July 22 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, July 23 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
