It was a celebration of 10 years for the Mid-Cal Blue Star Moms earlier this month, observing the anniversary of the local organization. Members come from throughout the Oakdale, Riverbank, Escalon areas and beyond, supporting their own children in service to this country as well as other active duty military service members. They routinely send care packages and letters to the troops. Several Blue Star moms recently gathered for a party hosted at the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce building and had some informational displays set up, along with sharing patriotic-themed cookies, root beer floats, fruit and conversation.
