If you’re looking for hidden gems – reading gems, that is – be sure to attend the Friends of the Oakdale Library one-day-only used book sale on Saturday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the community room of the Oakdale Library.
Admission is free. The library is at 151 S. First Ave., Oakdale.
“Even though e-books are gaining popularity, people still enjoy coming to book sales because browsing through the print books for sale is like a treasure hunt,” said Sharon Arpoika, president of the Friends. “There will be hardback and paperback books – mysteries, thrillers, romance as well as non-fiction titles available at bargain prices. The books will be roughly sorted by genre or subject.”
The Friends group relies on an annual fund drive, book sale proceeds and donations to augment programs at the Oakdale Library and to help with other library needs. The Friends of the Oakdale Library, Inc. is an all-volunteer public service organization. Members of the group will be available during the sale hours to answer any questions regarding volunteering or contributing to the Friends of the Oakdale Library.
