The Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office Victim Services Program will sponsor the 27th Annual Lighting of the Homicide Victims’ Memorial Tree and Candlelight Vigil on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6 p.m.

The ceremony will be held on the Courthouse Lawn at 1100 I St., Modesto. Opening remarks will be made by District Attorney Jeff Laugero, followed by Erin Nelson, founding Executive Director of Jessica’s House, and DaShaun Winston, Executive Board President of Crime Stoppers. Special music will be provided by Ruthanne Castro and Tanya DelaPuente.

Friends and family of homicide victims are invited to attend and bring a non-breakable ornament to hang on the tree in remembrance of their loved ones who are not with us to celebrate the holiday season due to the criminal acts of others.
