To help boost donations to local food banks during this holiday season The Save Mart Companies has extended its annual Give.Share.CARE! Holiday Drive to run through Dec. 31. All Save Mart, Lucky, Lucky California and FoodMaxx stores throughout California and Northern Nevada are participating in this annual holiday drive.

The Save Mart Companies, the largest family-owned grocer in California, aims to help combat the growing challenge of food insecurity that has been intensified by the ongoing pandemic and the upcoming holiday season.

“With so many struggling with food insecurity especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the support from our generous customers is making a difference and goes a long way toward helping our neighbors during this holiday season,” said Hal Levitt, senior vice president of retail operations.

To make it easy, customers donate at checkout and the tax-deductible contribution will be noted on their receipt. To maximize the positive impact on the communities, 100 percent of all donations will go to local food banks.

A donation of $2 feeds one person breakfast, $3 feeds one person lunch and $5 feeds one person dinner.

Last year, the Give.Share.CARE! Holiday Drive brought in more than $260,000 collectively from its stores for over 35 local food banks throughout California and Northern Nevada.

The Save Mart Companies operate 206 stores throughout California and Northern Nevada under the banners of FoodMaxx, Lucky, Lucky California and Save Mart. Based in the Central Valley, TSMC is committed to sourcing a wide variety of local products to communities throughout California and Northern Nevada. In addition to its retail operation, the company also operates Smart Refrigerated Transport and is a partner in Super Store Industries (SSI), which owns and operates a distribution center in Lathrop and the Sunnyside Farms dairy processing plant in Turlock.
