Discourse of Silence
Open Feb. 1 - 26
Internationally known Iraqi artist, Saadi al Kaabi, states “In my artwork, elements of form and symbols intertwine with earth colors, creating the balance among intellectual, rationalistic and physical values within a central core, which is the human being.” Al Kaabi was born in Iraq in 1937. The characters presented in Al Kaabi’s artworks are complex and provocative images that have witnessed the deep compassion of a desert man who has held on to the values and principles of his own beliefs while suffering aggressions, sieges, plunders and oppression, all of which have threatened his human existence. Join Saadi for an opening reception on Friday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. or at Art Walk on Thursday, Feb. 17.
