Andrew Joel Martinez and Mandy Kay Carstens have announced their plans to wed.
They were engaged to be married on Jan. 31, 2014 at a quaint little coffee shop in Danville, CA when Mandy was on a visit to California. The couple met while they were neighbors in Redding. They were friends for four years before they started dating on Andrew’s 26th birthday in June, 2013. While on a visit to Dallas during Thanksgiving, 2013, Andrew asked Mandy’s father for his blessing to marry his daughter.
The bride-to-be was homeschooled her entire life and attended Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) in Redding for its three-year program. She attended Collin College in Frisco, Texas and is presently the production manager for Southwest Sportswear in Carrollton, Texas. Her parents are Scott and Jody Carstens and her siblings are Dani, Trevor and Faith Carstens.
The prospective groom graduated from Oakdale High School in 2005 and attended Shasta College in Redding and Fresno Pacific University. He is currently the coordinator of children’s programs at Adventures In Learning in Pleasanton.
His parents are Joel and Debra Martinez, and his siblings are Elizabeth and Elijah Martinez and Mia Ogden.
Following a July, 2014 wedding in Dallas, Texas, the couple also plans to reside in Dallas, Texas.
