Elwood and Shirley Troxel celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on Nov. 9, 2011.

The couple was wed Nov. 9, 1957 in Reno, Nevada. They met in Mountain View at the movie theatre. They have resided in Oakdale for 22 years.

Mr. Troxel retired from the construction business after a 55-year career. Mrs. Troxel cared for the home and their three children.

The couple are the proud parents of Elwood (Terrie) Troxel of Santa Clara; Jimmy Troxel of Oakdale and Shirley Hernandez of Oakdale. They also are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren.
