William Chester Houck and Barbara Karen Houck will celebrate 50 years of marriage on September 19, 2009.

The couple began as high school sweethearts, while attending Oakdale schools. They were wed on September 19, 1959 in Carson City, Nevada.

William Houck spent much of his career as a grade checker and real estate developer while Barbara dedicated the majority of her time to her husband and their four children and six grandchildren.

Rodney Houck, Sonia Mahaney, Eric Houck and David Houck, all of Oakdale, are their children.

Family and friends have been invited to attend an anniversary dinner party hosted at the home of their son David and daughter-in-law Kasey Houck.
