Grover and Frances Francis recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 4 with a trip to London and Venice. The two were married at the Presbyterian Church in Escalon; both attended Lone Tree Grammar School and graduated from Escalon High School.

Mr. Francis was a self-employed rancher on Milnes Road, where the couple live, and Mrs. Francis worked for Tri-Valley Fruit for 44 years.

After their overseas trip, they enjoyed a celebration dinner with family and friends, hosted by their three children and spouses and grandchildren at their daughter Olympia’s home in Modesto.
